I started looking into Kashmir for a honeymoon after hearing from a few friends that the trip is beautiful but needs a little planning. Coming from Delhi, I initially thought it would simply be a matter of booking flights, hotels, and sightseeing. But once I started comparing itineraries, I realised that the route, hotel location, travel time, and inclusions can make a big difference to the overall experience.
For couples considering a Kashmir Honeymoon Tour Package from Delhi, I would suggest looking beyond just the package price. Kashmir has several destinations that can be combined, but trying to cover everything in a short trip can make the holiday feel rushed.
Srinagar is usually a good starting point because it gives couples time to enjoy Dal Lake, take a shikara ride, explore Mughal gardens, and experience the city's relaxed atmosphere. A stay on a houseboat can also add something different to the trip, although couples should check the facilities and location before booking.
Gulmarg is another important stop, particularly if you enjoy mountains, snow, or outdoor activities. The gondola ride is popular, but weather conditions can affect operations, so it is better not to build the entire itinerary around one activity. Pahalgam is ideal for couples who prefer scenic drives, riverside views, and a quieter atmosphere. Sonamarg can also be included depending on the season and road conditions.
One thing I would definitely recommend is keeping some free time in the itinerary. Honeymoon trips are not necessarily about visiting ten attractions every day. Having an afternoon to relax at the hotel, walk around Srinagar, or simply enjoy the mountain scenery can make the trip much more enjoyable.
If you're comparing packages, check whether transportation, hotel stays, meals, sightseeing, and applicable local charges are included. Also ask about room categories and whether the hotel is centrally located or far from the main sightseeing areas. These details can matter more than saving a small amount on the package.
I came across Minto Holidays while researching Kashmir travel options. Their Kashmir packages may be worth comparing with other options, but I would still suggest checking the complete itinerary and inclusions before making a decision.
For couples travelling from Delhi, I think around 6–7 days gives a comfortable balance between sightseeing and relaxation. Winter can offer a very different experience from spring or summer, so your preferred travel season should also influence the itinerary.
For those who have already visited Kashmir as a couple, what would you recommend: spending more time in Srinagar, adding Gulmarg and Pahalgam, or keeping the itinerary slow and relaxed?
